Experimenting with Love and Fruit

Icy falls. Photography by Anthony.

Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy,
it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV

Siesta Scripture Memory Verse 12/13
(June 15-July 14, 2009)

Today, I thought there might be some correlation between 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (The Love Chapter) and Galatians 5:22-23 (The Fruit of the Spirit).

But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23

So, I tried a little experiment... and I was surprised with the results.

Love is patient, PATIENCE
love is kind. KINDESS

It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud. GOODNESS

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, SELF-CONTROL
it is not easily angered, PEACE
it keeps no record of wrongs. GENTLENESS

Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth. JOY

It always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres. FAITHFULNESS

If you have any insights about this... please do share!
