Celebrating My 400th Published Post!
So Long, Insecurity

Today I am celebrating my 400th published post.  I emphasize published because I have actually written more posts than that (er, 470), but some have failed to see the light of day.

If you've been around here a while you know I have struggled in the past with feeling my writing is Substandard... or my struggle with Perfection... or feeling Self-Conscious.

I'll admit that I have come a long way... especially considering the fact that I just went to Houston, Texas for the SSMTC by myself to meet women I've never met all while wearing a bright pink feather boa!

Beth Moore is releasing a book on February 2nd entitled So Long, Insecurity.  Today the Living Proof Ministries Blog announced that Beth will be hosting a discussion group over the next nine weeks... basically reading two chapters a week.   She will wrap up the book discussion just in time for her April 24, 2010 simulcast where she will bring closure to her thoughts on the topic.

So in celebration of my 400th published post, I am giving away a copy of So Long, Insecurity.  Leave a comment and I will pick a random winner.  The winner will be announced on my February 1st post.

And I'd love to know if you are considering joining the discussion group... and if you're interested in joining me for the simulcast.

And who knows... maybe after I finish this book... I might actually publish some of my hidden posts!

Is the discussion group for the new Beth Moore book? I would be interested but don't live in PDX anymore.

Great idea! You don't have to enter me in the giveaway, I was able to get the book to review for Tyndale. It is VERY good as I expected. I was reading it and laughing the other night thinking Oh that's me!

Insecurity...does anyone NOT struggle with this??? Count me in! :)

What a great thing, Sheri. I know you have been a blessing to many. Can't wait for this book.

What a neat thing to do, Sheri! You don't have to enter me in the contest because my copy is already ordered. :) I just wanted to congratulate you on 400 posts and say I'm so glad you DID decide to come to Houston!

Hi Sheri:
I'm thinking about doing the discussion group. I have to decide if I have the time. I'm in two Bible Studies right now. I'd love to come to the simulcast. I'll have to check with my husband to see if it works.

I am going to participate in Beth's blog discussion group, and I would love to win a copy of the book. Am buying one for sure, but am also giving one to my daughter and maybe a co-worker!
I really like your blog!

I can't wait for Beth's new book discussion group. I have asked a friend who was just diagnosed with ovarian cancer if she wants to do the book together while she is undergoing her chemo/radiation. If she isn't up to it, I may jump in with you.

Don't we all suffer with insecurity in some form or fashion?

Wow - what a great idea! I'd love to join you for the simulcast -
what is involved in the discussion group? I'd like to leave my insecurity at the door too! Jen

Like Jackie, I have gone back and read some of your older posts and you have no reason to be INSECURE. You truly have a gift. And yes, I will be participating in the online discussion.

Congrats on all your posts even those not published because you still put finger to keyboard and expressed emotions and thoughts and even that is a step in the right directions.

I just found out about the book this week, so I haven't got a copy yet and would love to do the discussion. I can't do the simulcast. I'm speaking at a retreat that weekend myself. Talk about insecurity!

FYI_ Noelle is signed in as Aaron.....probably a good book for both genders, but its Noelle that wants it! :)

I hear it's an excellent book.
I haven't gotten it though. Don't enter me into the contest though because I won the last one! HA!
I have to tell you my "thoughts" so far on the "anom" book.....let's just say it's hitting me RIGHT where I live and I've cried several times. I want to take the book slow and savor it.
I'll fill you in more later.
CONGRATS on your 400th post.
Be blessed!

A pink feather boa? If you can do that, you can take on the world! Congratulations on your 400th post; what a milestone! Here's a confession...your blog was the very first one that I saved in my Favorites. And it was from yours that I also found many others that I like to follow. So thank you!

When I read your title, the music for So Long Self by Mercy Me started running through my head but I was sure the words So Long Insecurity were in the song...checked the lyrics, nope...my husband was right as usual, and my comments have nothing to do with your well crafted post...I would do well to follow in your footsteps and do more crafting and less babbbling! Congratulations on your 400th post!

I'm so excited about the discussion group and simulcast -- they are in bright pink/red on my calendar!!

I'm going to the simulcast, but in Salem. What fun to get to meet some more OR siestas :)

btw, don't put me in the drawing; I've got 5 books coming this week in the mail. I'll pray that just the right person gets this powerful book

Congrats on 400 posts! I celebrate my 2 year blogging anniversary this week. Haven't given much thought regarding it...

I cannot join the discussion this time around, so leave me out the choosing; someone wanting to do the study with Beth might better be able to use it right now. I am going to get the book at some point.

Anyway, congratulations. Who knows what another 100 posts will birth in you and through you? Keep to it.

Sheri: Congratulations to you on your 400th post! I LOVE YOUR BLOG - you write beautifully!

I loved the SMT Celebration - and you captured everything so well!

I am going to participate in this on-line discussion too! I can't wait. Would love to win the book! (Too bad you and I didn't win one last weekend.)

How can you miss 508 women that you barely know??? Jesus! That's why!

Love, Georgia Jan

I picked this blog at random from the 88 linked from the LPM blog - I wanted to go to the SMT celebration too but having to wear a pink boa scared me off (no, just kidding!) Now after reading LPM and this blog I so wish I had been better about saving my pennies to go. Looking forward to the So Long Insecurity discussion.
